Hét jaarlijkse moment om als podiumkunstensector bij te praten aan de start van een nieuw cultureel seizoen! Met de feestelijke en kritische State of the Union & Youth achter de kiezen komen de gesprekken traditiegetrouw snel op gang.

We zijn enorm verheugd om medeoprichter van het Palestijnse theatergezelschap Ashtar Theatre 𝐈𝐦𝐚𝐧 𝐀𝐨𝐮𝐧 te verwelkomen als spreker voor de State of the Union van dit jaar & multidisciplinair kunstenaar 𝐋𝐨𝐮𝐜𝐤𝐚 𝐅𝐢𝐚𝐠𝐚𝐧 voor onze State of the Youth. 

Na de states worden de Acteursgilde Theaterprijzen uitgereikt. Met de steun van Amplo slaan Het TheaterFestival en De Acteursgilde de handen in elkaar voor de uitbouw van de Acteursgilde Theaterprijzen. De jury van Het TheaterFestival stelt voortaan een shortlist samen waar de leden van De Acteursgilde hun stem op kunnen uitbrengen.

THE STATE OF THE YOUTH SPEAKER / Loucka Elie Fiagan

Loucka Elie Fiagan’s practice is at the intersection of poetry, dance, music and video. As a remarkable multidisciplinary artist he co-founded the performative duo wedntknwyet with Oscar Cassamajor, created the JAN a collective organisation that supports creatives, is member of the publishing house le Mot:Lame and composes and performs abstract hip hop music under the name SVDU.

THE STATE OF THE UNION SPEAKER / Iman Aoun

In 1991 Iman Aoun co-founded ASHTAR Theatre – the first theatre school for youth in Palestine – and has been instrumental in training, directing and devising many productions. She is an internationally recognized theatre trainer who specializes in the Theatre of the Oppressed techniques, and is well known for her use of theatre as a tool for change both locally and internationally. Her vision in creating a better world through theatre had led her to create many world recognized projects and significant initiatives such as ‘The Gaza Monologues’ in 2010 – a documentary theatre performance based on the personal stories and testimonies of a group of children from Gaza.
