Our survey following #LageLandenLiefde2023 shows that there is a need for more Flemish work in the Netherlands and vice versa, both from the public and from programmers. Creators also indicate that they find it important to play in a Flemish-Dutch context. ‘Unknown makes unloved’ was once again emphasised. This is why hTF, NTF, deBuren & De Brakke Grond are joining forces to develop a two-day visitors’ programme inviting Dutch programmers to het TheaterFestival (Flanders) and Flemish programmers to the Nederlands Theater Festival (The Netherlands).

Because nothing beats a real encounter, the most sustainable response to the unknown makes unloved is to focus on real encounters through experience, prospecting, speed dating and networking. With this visitor programme, we provide a concrete impetus that responds to the needs of programmers and creators.
