From the Jury report:
"With Ki no nagare, the jury selects an inspiring fusion of circus and aikido that dares to transcend genres and conventions."
Ki no nagare, or flowing energy, is a contemporary circus performance in which hand-to-hand and Icarian techniques merge with circular movements inspired by aikido, literally the way of harmony. Martial principles serve as the starting point for exploring how to let go, accept, and find harmony, both within oneself and with another.
Three performers bring the piece to life: two contrasting bodies, a heavy and a light man, engage in a wordless physical dialogue about balance, cooperation, and dynamics, carried by the pulsing rhythms of taiko and drums.
Ki no nagare is a warm and inviting acroporté performance in which contrast dissolves and the search for inner and mutual harmony takes centre stage.

Review
"De ontmoeting tussen martial arts en circus in ‘Ki no nagare’ is innovatief en toch authentiek. Het artistieke pad dat Sabbe met deze voorstelling bewandelt wemelt misschien van de valkuilen, maar hij struikelt niet."
